Trane's XV80, XV80i, and XV95 heating systems feature variable-speed motors to provide consistent conditioned airflow throughout any home or corporate facility. Variable-speed motors assure regular airflow even when venting registers are closed or filters require cleaning. The drive module within the variable-speed furnace monitors airflow conditions. So, in the event of a blockage, the variable-speed system increases the motor's rotations per minute (RPM); thus compensating for the blockage.
