Two-Stage Furnaces

Lower the cost to heat a home or office by taking advantage of Trane’s energy saving innovations. Unlike single stage furnaces, two-stage heaters require less power to keep rooms warm. During the first stage, the furnace runs at 65% of its full capacity. A two-stage heater will function in the first stage for up to 80% of the time. By circulating hot air for longer periods of time at a reduced capacity, the two-stage furnace nearly eliminates short cycling, while preventing temperature fluctuations. The two-stage furnace will switch to the second stage, running at full capacity, when rooms require more heat than usual to maintain a consistent desired temperature.
