The torture tested Trane XR12 comes with the Climatuff Compressor and up to 12.0 SEER efficiency rating. The most efficient air conditioner existing today is Trane’s XL19i; this ultra efficiency a/c system carries two Climatuff compressors in addition to its 19.5 SEER rating.

The pre-painted acrylic finish over the condenser coil fins, plus the copper tube and aluminum fin coil construction guards against corrosion inside the steel casing, which has been finished with a three-step process, shielding the frame from the elements. Inside the A/C scroll compressors operate the cooling mechanism. With only two moving parts and no pistons, scroll compressors have a greater longevity and are more dependable than standard air conditioners.
