What is a heat pump?
A heat pump is an electronic air conditioning device that uses both compression and decompression to temper the air within a given indoor space. A heat pump operates all year, and is capable of both heating and cooling air by relocating heat from the air or ground.

Trane's XLi heat pumps include:

XL19i (variable speed motor)
XL16i (two-stage motor)
XL15i (single-stage motor)
XL14i (single-stage motor)
